Vierra – My First Love

This is my 2nd time to review my own country’s band after ten2five.

This time I decide to review Single Perih from Vierra. Vierra is a youngster band from Indonesia. They are famous about their ear-catching and candy-pop music (although they calling it disney music) and a bit of japanese rock style. This band is consist of Kevin Aprilio (pianist/keyboardist), Widy Soediro (vocalist), Raka Cyril (guitaris) dan Trian (drummer). Single Dengarkan Curhatku in 2009 become their first step to fame

One of their signature is the use of piano or keyboard as the melody/base, not the guitar in almost all of their songs. No wonder, Kevin, the keyboardist is the founder of this band, and his influence to this band is a reality, especially their musicality. The vocalist, Widy, has soft, childish voice but don’t just sit on your seat, she could scream and others just like rocker, which gives her self a signature notice.

Over all, this album is worth enough to heard. Especially for Indonesian who has get boring about all Melayu’s song (I am!). I would not upload the album, since I respect the legality (yes! I care about for my country’s song or band!). In spite of , I’d upload my favorite single from this Album: Perih. I love the piano’s tune on this single. It’s so deep and lovable. I don’t own the song, I just search on the net and upload it here so I could share with you.

Ai Otsuka – Planetarium

Here it is! One of my Favorite Japanese Singer!! Ai Otsuka! I just her adorable and cute smile, (who would know she has passed her quarter life? WEll, the fact say the truth, she was born in September 9, 1982!). Her voice is so cute and sweet, which perfectly fit all of her songs (and all composed by herself).

Okay, Planetarium is released in September 2005, her tenth single for all, and her second best-selling single after Sakuranbo. It’s listed in Love Cook Album, her third album which released on the same year. This song is also used as insert song of Hana Yori Dango first season (when I first heard this song) and usually become the background when the main character (Usually Domyoji) feels alone, and even I don’t know the meaning of the song, I could feel the sadness that the character bring about. I should say this song is perfectly fit the scene, and I’ always wondering about who sing this song it until I found the videoclip on Youtube.

The video shows Ai-chin singing in various background. Backgrounds of starry sky is getting the most part, yeah, but I still love the paper windmills part. I also love how the video clips end, the morning arise…hmm a connotation ??? Well the song is so sweet, even w/o Ai-chin’s voice (I just trying to say this song is great!). It’s opened by drum instrumental, followed by wood flute and piano sound, the melody is one of remarked of this song. And then Ai-chin sing, with her soft and sweet voice, but still the depth, you can fell the loneliness on it. The backing vocal is not bad either (it’s really good actually), since the voice giving more tense for the song’s atmosphere.

Planetarium

The moonlit evening shows its face
And a child’s voice is vanishing
Far away, far away, I guess you’re somewhere in this sky
In the end of the Summer, we sneaked away to this park we had found
Do you remember that constellation somehow?

Even if I can’t meet you, I pursue my memories
I wanna look at the same happiness
Along with that smell, the fireworks open in a flash

I want to live, I want to live and run to your place right now
I can’t see anything in the pitch dark, even if it’s scary, I’m all right
The countless starry sky is still here now, forever
I won’t cry because the sky I saw before with you was beautiful

The sound of your shoes remains in my ears and resounds as far as that path
I guess I’m staring at my own great shadow

It may not change at all but my painful feelings are getting inflated
No matter how I felt, you’re no longer with me

I want to live even if it’s a little, even if it’s a little, right by you’re side
You’re the one I like the most, so I can be strong
I tried softly reciting a wish upon a shooting star
I won’t cry, has it reached you? In this beautiful sky

I want to live, grasping tightly your little hand towards your place
I want to cry, that was, that was a beautiful sky
I tried softly reciting a wish upon a shooting star
I want to cry, you won’t reach my feelings in this sky…

I got the translation on the net, but I don’t know who made it. If you know who made it, please tell me so I can give him/her the credit. As usual, You can download it here: Mediafire or through the direct link on the box.net which located on the right column. I should warn you, the quality is less than on the mediafire, but still good enough to heard.

Leave me a comment so I could review more song/movie or even upload it for you!

Later, this song has been covered by another singer or band, and can’t be denied as one of marketing strategy.

The Lyrics:

(They long to Be) Close To You

Why do birds suddenly appear
Every time you are near?
Just like me, they long to be
Close to you

Why do stars fall down from the sky
Every time you walk by?
Just like me, they long to be
Close to you

On the day that you were born
The angels got together
And decided to create a dream come true
So they sprinkled moon-dust
In your hair of gold
And starlight in your eyes of blue

That is why all the girls in town
Follow you all around
Just like me, they long to be
Close to you

[break]

On the day that you were born
The angels got together
And decided to create a dream come true
So they sprinkled moon-dust
In your hair of gold
And starlight in your eyes of blue

That is why all the girls in town
Follow you all around
Just like me, they long to be
Close to you

Just like me, they long to be
Close to you

(Ah, aahh, aahh) Close to you
(Ah, aahh, aahh) Close to you
(Ah, aahh, aahh) Close to you
(Ah, aahh, aahh) Close to you

Movie – Astro Boy (American Adaptation)

I write this off freshly after watch the movie, I’m telling you, this movie probably better if you don’t know who is Atom/Astro  before. For an adult/teenager who has known who Atom is, watching this film should be an unsatisfaction, since, honestly, I can’t get the most important thing in all Tetsuwan Atom’s series: the humanity. Over all, this is the synopsis:

The film take a setting in Metro city, a floating city which separated from earth (or they called it surface). Metro city growing into a paradise, where robots servicing human in every life aspect, and the surface just a junkyard of robot’s broken parts. -Read The Full Synopsis here!>
